Cellphone Insanity, a.k.a. Telephrenia... written by Tom Thacker

Years ago before cell phones became common, I would occasionally see people walking down the street, speaking to unseen presences and wildly gesticulating. Everyone would stay away from these characters because we did not know what other seemingly crazy things that they may be capable of doing. It was commonly believed that these folk were schizophrenic or suffering from schizophrenia ( a disassociation from reality as we know it). Nowadays I see many more people acting in this exact manner except for the fact that they have a cell phone jammed against thier ear. Not everyone that has or uses a cell phone acts like this, but enough do that I have given this syndrome a name: telephrenic, or suffering from telephrenia.
